It?s a Big Ten conference versus Big East conference showdown as the Northwestern Wildcats will travel to play the Syracuse Orange in an NCAA college football game on Saturday afternoon.
Kick off time from Syracuse is scheduled for 12PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ESPN2.

The betting odds opened up from this week one college football game with the road team Northwestern Wildcats favored by -2 points with an over under of 53 ? points.
The early money from the betting public came on the side of the home underdog as Northwestern has been bet to a -1 ? point favorite. The total has moved down a notch to a current line of 53 points.

Head coach Pat Fitzgerald is back for his seventh year at the school. He has compiled a record of 40-36 and took the team to four bowls. The Wildcats return just four starters on offense and four on defense. In 2011 the club finished at 6-7 and was defeated by Texas A&M in the Care Care of Texas Bowl 33-22 as a +9 point underdog.
With Dan Persa leaving the program it will be junior Kain Colter under center for the Wildcats. In limited duty in 2011 Colter completed 67.1% of his passes for 673 yards with six touchdowns and one interception.
Two of the three to running backs return for Northwestern. They must replace their two leading receivers from 2011.
The Syracuse Orange head coach Doug Marrone is back for his fourth year as the top man in the program. He has compiled a 17-20 record with Syracuse. Back in 2012 for the Orange will be five starters on offense and seven to the defense. The Orange finished 5-7 in the 2011 campaign and failed to earn a bowl berth for the sixth time in seven seasons.
Quarterback Ryan Nassib returns for his senior season as starter. In 2011 Nassib hit on 62.4% of his passes for 2685 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine picks.
The Orange must replace their leading running back in Antwon Bailey who ran for over 1000 yards a season ago. Four of the top five pass receivers have exited Syracuse for 2012.
