"The Bourne Legacy" leads an army of new movies into theaters this weekend. Thankfully, for ticket buyers, it seems most of this week's offerings are solid bits of entertainment: Only "Bourne Legacy" -- the fourth film in the "Bourne" franchise, but one that doesn't include title star Matt Damon -- and something call "Nitro Circus: The Movie" were certified rotten by Rotten Tomatoes, the popular movie review aggregation site.
Not that films like "The Campaign," "Hope Springs" and indie releases "Red Hook Summer" and "2 Days In Paris" are perfect. Critics found issues with each, with complaints ranging from the films being too stupid ("The Campaign") to too messy (Spike Lee's "Red Hook Summer"). Still, if you're headed to theaters this weekend -- and not watching the Closing Ceremonies at the 2012 London Olympics -- you've certainly got some options.
Television watchers, on the other hand, have a bit less to consider. Earlier this week, NBC debuted the Matthew Perry sitcom "Go On" to high ratings and mixed critical results. The network is likely hoping for a similar response to the sitcom "Animal Practice," which premieres after the Closing Ceremony in London. The series stars Justin Kirk ("Weeds") and Crystal the Monkey ("The Hangover Part II"), and has left most critics decidedly unmoved.
Did these critics go too far? Not far enough? Check out some of the week's toughest reviews in HuffPost Entertainment's Week In Ouch below. Sound off in the comments with your own thoughts on the week's entertainment.

'The Bourne Legacy'
<blockquote>But the movie's last hour or so squanders these rich narrative possibilities in an incoherently plotted, generically action-packed anticlimax. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that the final motorcycle chase, in which a hastily introduced super-assassin character weaves through Manila traffic in seemingly endless pursuit of our hero and heroine, could have taken place in any middling summer action movie, while the closing scene--intended as a tantalizing cliffhanger for the sequel--left the story feeling simply unfinished.</blockquote>

'Hope Springs'
<blockquote>The movie is an awkward cross between a domestic comedy and a marital tragedy that's laced with laughs, soggy with tears and burdened by a booming, blunt soundtrack that amplifies every narrative beat, from "I Don't Want to Be Your Mother" to "Everybody Plays the Fool," "Let's Stay Together" and "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over."</blockquote>

'2 Days In New York'
<blockquote>Without so much as a wink, it presents the French as racist, stinky, crude, self-absorbed, and obnoxious. It isn't a culture-clash comedy, so much as culture character assassination. </blockquote>

'Nitro Circus 3D'
<blockquote>Even if you appreciate the sight of grown men acting like idiots, the film's repetitive pacing and self-congratulatory air start to feel exhausting.</blockquote>

'Animal Practice'
<blockquote>This is the sad, stark truth that awaits 'Animal Practice' as soon as it begins: In every scene without the monkey, viewers will ask, WHERE IS THAT LITTLE MONKEY NOW?</blockquote>

'Go On'
<blockquote>It's just that tonight, at least, the show is so dour, the humor gets lost.</blockquote>
